How to Clean Upvc Windows and Doors

Upvc is the most popular material in the industry for windows, doors, conservatories etc. This is due to its cost-effective price, the fact it is basically maintenance free and when maintenance is required it is usually very simple. Its final popular benefit is that it has a very long lifespan.

However, when cleaning Upvc there are some methods that work fantastically and other ways that can actually ruin the look of your window, so today we are going to look at both sides to ensure you do not make a costly mistake when trying to sharpen up the image of your windows and doors.

There are 4 main items we would recommend using when cleaning your windows and doors and these are:

  • Hot soapy water
  • A Vacuum Cleaner
  • Fresh Water for post clean
  • Brush with soft bristles

Below are some items we would not recommend using to clean as they could ruin and mark your Upvc and even your glass:

  • Abrasive Cleaner
  • Ammonia based products
  • Scouring pads or metal based cleaning materials
  • Kitchen roll or toilet roll

Another great remedy for cleaning is lemons, lemons can be used for a variety of purposes from cooking ingredients to a cleaning solution to make your windows sparkle. There are a number of cleaning solutions you can make using lemons and again we urge you to research which solution is best for your windows to ensure you get the results you desire.

When trying new cleaning products and methods we will always recommend that you do your own in-depth research before doing the clean itself to make sure that you don’t jeopardise the Upvc or glass in any way and to ensure that you get the required results.

We hope this information can help you when cleaning your windows and doors in the future. We hope you enjoyed this blog and we will be back with more helpful tips in the future.
