What Impact Could a Damaged Window or Door have on Your Property?

Windows and doors can get damaged in a number of ways. Years of being battered by the elements can take its toll, an unfortunate accident or poor maintenance can leave them damaged and vulnerable. Although the damage may be small, like a little crack or slightly loose hinges, something that barely enters your thoughts, it can in the future affect your home more than you ever thought it could.

Small cracks can grow in size during the winter months resulting in a whole window needing to be replaced. This can also weaken the entire pane within the window creating a chink in your houses armour that potential thieves could utilise to get into your home.

Loose hinges again reduce the security of your home whilst allowing energy to escape. This means your home will take longer to heat and will need more power in order to keep it warm resulting in a rise in energy bills. These small problems can cause little irritants like this until they become a bigger problem that needs addressing in the future.

The best course of action is to catch them early and to deal with them In the best way possible. Some damages can be repaired simply whilst others may need to be replaced entirely depending on how bad the damage is.

Either way, at Countrywide Windows we have a wealth of knowledge and a professional team who can best advise you on the route to take when it comes to your damaged windows and doors.
